Bambu Lab AMS HT

The Bambu Lab AMS HT is a high-temperature automatic material system with built-in drying, heating, and RFID filament recognition for use with compatible Bambu Lab printers.

How it's used

• Holds one spool and dries it at up to 85 °C, hot enough for TPU, nylon (PA), PC and most carbon-fiber blends. For PLA and PETG, the 4-spool AMS 2 Pro (up to 65 °C) is usually enough.
• Takes spools 197-202 mm across and 50-68 mm wide, such as Bambu Lab's own 1 kg spools.
• Close the lid and start drying on the printer's screen. Bambu Lab spools set their own drying temperature and time by RFID.
• Drying needs its own power cord, included in the box. The printer cannot power AMS HT drying, and the AMS HT must stay connected to the printer to dry: it is not a standalone dryer.
• On the H2D, H2S, P2S, X2D and A2L it can keep drying during a print (with up-to-date firmware). On other printers, such as the X1, P1 and A1, it dries between prints.
• Soft TPU and most carbon- or glass-fiber filaments go out through the bypass outlet at the back of the lid, and you push them through to the printer by hand.

Which printers it fits

• A1 and A1 mini: with the AMS Hub - A1 Series, up to 4 units of AMS HT, AMS 2 Pro or 1st-generation AMS in any mix, but not at the same time as an AMS Lite.
• A2L: up to 4 AMS units, also next to an AMS Lite. From the second unit on, add a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter.
• X1 and P1: up to 4 units in total. One unit needs a filament buffer, a PTFE tube coupler and a 4-pin cable, which a printer that already runs an AMS has; two or more need the AMS Hub in place of the buffer.
• P2S: up to 4 AMS HT next to up to 4 AMS 2 Pro, through the Combo's filament buffer (a P2S bought without an AMS needs its own). From the third unit on, add a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter.
• H2D, H2C and X2D: up to 8 AMS HT next to up to 4 AMS 2 Pro. From the third unit on, add a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter (the H2C uses the H2 version, and one comes in its box).
• H2S: up to 8 AMS HT next to up to 4 AMS 2 Pro. From the second unit on, add a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter.
